3 TRUTHS ACCORDING TO GOD’S WORD

Please take a few moments and read about these truths concerning who you are The Sinner, who Jesus Christ is, The Saviour, and the truth about Salvation. How you respond to what is written will determine where you will spend eternity.

Please don’t put off reading this message, Life is brief and you’re not guaranteed tomorrow.

“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:4)

I.THE TRUTH ABOUT ME, THE SINNER

I am a Sinner

I have inherited a sinful nature from the first man, Adam.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men” (Romans 5:12)

When Adam chose to eat the forbidden fruit he disobeyed God and became a sinner, and consequently passed sin down through the blood to all.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

I was born in sin

“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity: and in sin did my mother conceive me.” (Psalm 51:5)

I have broken God’s Law (10 Commandments) And if I have broken only 1, I’m guilty of all.

“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10)

Lying and stealing does not make me a sinner; I lie and steal because I am a sinner.

I will die as a Sinner

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23)

“the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4)

I will be judged for my sin

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27)

“Every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12)

The consequence for my sin is eternal separation from God. God, being Holy, Pure and Just, will not allow sin into Heaven and has prepared a place called Hell for those who die in their sin.

I need a Saviour

My only hope for salvation is to:

  • Realize I’m a sinner,
  • Repent of my sin, and
  • Receive the LORD Jesus Christ.

II. THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS, THE SAVIOUR

Jesus had no sin

“He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Born of a virgin by the Holy Ghost, sin was not passed to him through the blood; therefore Jesus lived a perfect life, and earned salvation for us.

Jesus paid for my sin

God being righteous and just must punish sins. Christ Jesus took my place.

He is my substitute for sins.

“He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities… and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5, 6)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)

Jesus died was buried and rose again

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4)

His resurrection proves power over sin and death.

Jesus commands you to repent and believe

“Repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

Repentance is a sorrow over sin, a desire to be cleansed and a willingness to turn in your heart from your sin. Genuine repentance results in a changed life.

Jesus loves you and wants you to be saved

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

III. THE TRUTH ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is only in the LORD Jesus Christ

It is not found in a program or “magic Prayer” but in the person of Jesus Christ.

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Salvation is a gift from God

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

There is nothing I can do humanly or religiously to earn this free gift.

Salvation takes place in your heart

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness” (Romans 10:10)

(Not in your head)

Simply acknowledging the facts about me being a Sinner and Jesus being the Saviour, is not Salvation. I can know all the facts and still be lost.

Salvation is available today

If God has convinced you today of these 3 truths, would you respond by receiving Jesus as LORD?

“behold, now is the accepted time; now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
